New Edition of Form I-129CW

The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services is publishing the new edition of its Form I-129CW, Petition for a CNMI-Only Nonimmigrant Worker, on June 18, 2020 [PDF version]. The new Form I-129CW is part of revisions to the CW1 nonimmigrant category in the interim final rule implementing the Northern Mariana Islands U.S. Workforce Act of 2018. We discussed the revisions in a separate post [see blog].

Starting on June 18, the USCIS will only accept the 06/18/20 edition of the Form I-129CW. This means that the USCIS will reject any older edition of the Form I-129CW postmarked on or after June 18, 2020.

Online EOIR Automated Case Information Application Now Available

On February 25, 2020, the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) announced a new option for checking case information online [PDF version].

Users may access the EOIR's new automated case information application on the EOIR's website. Case information is currently available only in English and Spanish.

In order to use the automated case information application, a user must input his or her A-Number at https://portal.eoir.justice.gov/InfoSystem/Form?Language­EN (English) or https://portal.eoir.justice.gov/InfoSystem/Form?Language­ES (Spanish). The application can provide information about next scheduled hearings, decision information at the immigration court or Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA), court and BIA contact information, and the immigration court's current operating status.

While the EOIR has added automated case information to its website, the EOIR's automated case information telephone hotline remains available. The phone number for the EOIR automated case information hotline is 800-898-7189 (TDD 800-828-1120).
