On May 28, 2019, Acting Secretary of Homeland Security, Kevin McAleenan, announced that Mark Morgan would begin serving as the Acting Director of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).[1] President Donald Trump had nominated Morgan to become the permanent ICE Director several months earlier. Morgan's nomination will remain pending while he is serving as Acting ICE Director. We wrote about President Trump's nomination of Morgan in a separate post [see blog]. Furthermore, please see our discussion of an interesting interview Morgan gave on border security just before he was nominated to be the next ICE Director [see blog].
